Quiz re-do tomorrow, and a worksheet

Don't forget that if you need to make up the quiz from Friday, I'll be in my room after school from 3:00-4:00 tomorrow (Tuesday, April 22). The sorts of stuff you'll need to be able to do is on the post below this.

The assignment today (which was also intended to help you get ready for the quiz re-do) is here. Download and print it if you need to.

Lesson 9.3 (Day two)

The homework today was from the text book. Pages 585-586 again, questions 12-32 (even). Don't forget the quiz tomorrow, either.

Lesson 9.3

Vocabulary
inscribed angle–an angle whose vertex lies on a circle and whose sides are chords of a circle

intercepted arc–the arc marked off by an inscribed angle
Theorems
inscribed angle theorem–the measure of an angle inscribed in a circle is equal to half the measure of the intercepted arc.

right-angle corollary–if an inscribed angle intercepts a semicircle, then the angle is a right angle.

    arc-intercept corollary
–if two inscribed angles intercept the same arc, then they have the same measure.
Homework: Text book pages 585-586, questions 11-31 (odd)

First week of fourth quarter

Vocabulary
point of tangency–the point where a tangent intersects with a circle
Theorems
tangent theorem–if a line is tangent to a circle, then the line is perpendicular to a radius of the circle at the point of tangency.

radius and chord theorem–a radius that is perpendicular to a chord bisects the chord.

converse of the tangent theorem–if a line is perpendicular to a radius of a circle at the point of tangency, then it is a tangent to the circle.
Assignment from Monday, April 14: Text book pages 577-578, questions 10-14 and 19-24.

Second semester stuff for Centennial

Alright, I think I have this fixed now. What I'll try to do is post anything here that would be helpful to you at home, including links to some things and downloads of assignments.

Here are the worksheets from second semester.

Assignment 1
Assignment 2
Assignment 3

Friday was pretty disappointing because so few of you put the effort in to show me what you know about pyramids. That means that this week will have us revisiting pyramid and cone stuff, in addition to moving on. Oh, and there will be a quiz on Friday.

Assignment 6

Here is assignment six, which is a group of logic puzzles to introduce you to proofs and logic.
